I want to point you toward one of the most serious water research programs in North America — and it's in Canada. The University of Waterloo Water Institute is the largest university-based water research hub on the continent.
What makes their work important is the breadth. They're developing smart sensor technologies for detecting pathogens and emerging contaminants. They're working on treatment, watershed management, and water policy — all in one place. And they're training the next generation of scientists who will inherit the problems we haven't solved.
Canadian water science keeps quietly producing some of the most useful research in the field. Waterloo is a big part of why.
