Privacy Policy

I Drink Living Water (“IDLW,” “we,” “us”) is an educational water-research project stewarded by Creative House Studios Inc. (“CHS”), based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit idrinklivingwater.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible and to be clear about everything we do collect.

What we collect

• Email addresses you provide when you sign up for a newsletter, join the Doomscroll Reset series, or use the contact form. These are stored in our Supabase database and our email provider (Resend).
• Contact-form submissions (name, email, your message) stored in Supabase so we can reply.
• Anonymous analytics via Plausible Analytics (no cookies, no IP storage) and, where enabled, Google Analytics (GA4) with IP-anonymization. This tells us which pages are read, roughly where visitors are from, and which links work — it does not identify you personally.
• Standard web-server logs (request time, user agent, page requested) retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
• Embedded content. Videos on research pages are embedded from HeyGen and YouTube. Those providers may set their own cookies when you play a video. We do not control their practices; see their policies for details.

We do not collect: payment information (we do not sell directly from this site), location data beyond the country-level inference from analytics, social-login data, or data about minors knowingly.

How we use it

• To send you the newsletter or Doomscroll Reset emails you signed up for, via Resend.
• To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
• To understand in aggregate which research pages resonate and which need better explanation.
• To protect the site from abuse (rate limiting, spam filtering).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with other organizations, advertisers, or data brokers.

Third parties we use

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers. Each has its own privacy policy which governs how they handle data:

• Vercel — website hosting and edge infrastructure
• Supabase — database for signups, submissions, and research content
• Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly site analytics (cookieless)
• Google Analytics (GA4) — used with IP-anonymization where enabled
• HeyGen — embedded video hosting
• YouTube — embedded video hosting

Cookies

The core site uses minimal cookies (functional only). Plausible Analytics is cookieless by design. If Google Analytics is enabled on a page, it uses standard GA4 cookies with IP-anonymization. Embedded video players from HeyGen and YouTube may set their own cookies when you play a video. You can block any of these in your browser settings without breaking site functionality.

Your rights

Because we are based in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to us. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, the rights in the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA also apply to you. Regardless of jurisdiction, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of any mailing list (every email we send has an unsubscribe link)
• File a complaint with the applicable privacy regulator

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows or providers change. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. If you subscribe to our newsletter, significant changes will also be announced there.
